Attic Insulation for Dummies

Attic insulation
If there's anything the staff of the Antisocial Network find more irritating than freelance bullshit, it's spun freelance bullshit. It's bad enough when money-grubbing halfwits regurgitate randomly connected factoids, pretending to be knowledgeable; it's quite another to take someone else's words and spin them into unrecognizable twaddle. Take, for instance, the content posted by InfoBarrel.com's clickstop, allegedly a primer on "Types of Attic Insulation" (an Iowa-based company named Clickstop.com sells insulation – you be the judge). Clickstop tells us right up front that
"Many house owners could use the new 12 months as a operating system for preparing home improvement projects like new landscaping, a kitchen {remodel}, or changing home windows. Considering one of the added benefits of home ownership is creating fairness in hopes of achieving a stable give on investment, continual work to improve the house and produce much more worth is portion of a audio strategy."
OK, Clickie, we followed most of that rubbish, though "creating fairness" seems a bit of a stretch; but "a audio strategy"? Oh, wait, we get it: "a sound strategy." Never mind... Mr. Clickstop goes on to let us know that

"Attic insulation can considerably decrease the amount of income you lose every month due to straightforward physics."
Ummm, yeah: sure. But we get to the meat of the matter in the stopster's concluding paragraph:
"Also to the fiberglass batting or cellulose that's probably currently in your attic, look at adding a exclusive sort of attic insulation called radiant barrier."
So there's the money shot right there: this is... we were going to call it "thinly-disguised advertising," but that disguise is anything but thin. Whatever the case, take a look at this product sold for residential use by the aforementioned Clickstop.com: it's a radiant barrier cleverly named EcoFoil. 'Nuff said?

For trying to sneak advertising into a fake freelance post and for foisting some of the worst spun content in recent memory on an unsuspecting public, today's Dumbass of the Day is a misguided corporation: Clickstop.com. Wonder if the congratulatory plaque will be on display in the office...
