Relationships for Illiterate Dummies

Is there anything more annoying than a dummy pretending to be sharing hard-won experience? You'd think not, but there actually is: a dummy pretending to share hard-won knowledge simply by rewording someone else's work. And the more ridiculous the wording, the more annoying. Are you with us? Well, maybe an example will help. Let's look at the work of WritEdge contributor putyliz, who held forth on the topic of "Tips to Spark your Marriage Alive."¹ In a writing style that one might most charitably describe as "fractured," young Liz advised her devoted readers (all two of them, we suspect),
"The following is facile yet profound tips to nurture salubrious relationship.
Active communication: Two way traffic, supreme for fathering mutual healthy attachment. Diligent listening involves eluding disruptions to affirm your participation. Rephrasing the statement or question for your partner is crucial for understanding."
Oh, wow: a "salubrious relationship." Just what we need, since we so desperately seek to "father mutual healthy attachment" in all our relationships! But wait, there's more:
"Explore sex to the fullest: key mainsprings of fulfilling sex result in work pressure, domestic obligations and advancing in age. "
The staff members here at the Antisocial Network don't know about other folks, but we always thought that a fulfilling sexual life kind of took the edge off "work pressure, domestic obligations and advancing in age" as opposed to causing them. But what do we know?

Maybe we're just stupid – or maybe when putyliz copied, spun, and pasted this sack of steaming rat-rubbish onto the page at WritEdge, s/he left out a couple of phrases. It's interesting that Liz – or maybe it's Puty; we aren't certain – managed to sneak this crapola past the owners of WritEdge, who claim total opposition to spun content. Maybe they should be awarded today's Dumbass of the Day. Ya think???
