Inline Water Heaters for Total Dummies

Inline water heater
If there's one thing that's worse than a faked review of a product, it's product advice put together by an ignorant freelancer just pretending to know something about the topic. It's part and parcel of the great stupidification of the internet, compliments of all the content farms out there. Let us tell you, around the Antisocial Network's offices we really miss the old days when you could tell Google search to ignore certain sites...

Today's dumbassery example comes from InfoBarrel.com,¹ where member meggie graced the worldwide web with her thoughts on "Inline Water Heater Systems." It's where our nominee presented such information as:
"One of the best locations for an inline water heater are bathrooms or small apartments where a traditional tank will obviously not fit."
Well, duh, meggie: what did people in small apartments do for hot water before tankless heaters came along?
We particularly liked this sage bit of advice:
"These are electric and natural gas versions. Make sure you learn what kind of hookups you have in your house because switching from one to the other is very costly and in some cases not possible."
Are you really stupid enough to think that someone would install the wrong kind? Is everyone in your world a dumbass like you?

Of course, bad advice wouldn't be complete without erroneous information, such as
"These heaters heat the water only when needed. This means that when the tap is opened, the heater is switched on, and it boils the water that passes through it."
Day-um, woman! We don't know if we'd want us no water heater thingy that "boils the water that passes through it"! Boiling water would hurt!

And then there's this:
"Installation is also not a big project because it only needs to be attached to your existing pipes."
Really? not a big project? Boy, she sure IS a dumbass – by which we mean the kind of moron who thinks "sweating a pipe" means leading a spin class for plumbing parts. For her inability to simply copy words from one website to another without screwing up the information, meggie is the recipient of our coveted Dumbass of the Day.
