Probably what they wanted, Chantel... |
We're of the opinion that a jewelry box is something relatively small, small enough to sit on a vanity or a dresser. We envision such an item as having numerous small compartments for rings, bracelets, and necklaces; along with storage for earrings, either singly or in pairs. In other words, divided compartments and drawers, probably with a mirror and certainly with a clasp.
That does not seem to be what Alise thinks... no, according to Chantel, you should start with ,
"A pre-made object you intend to adapt,"then
"Add cardboard, plastic, or wood compartments"or
"Insert the appropriate interior compartments using pre-made tracking systems available at most home improvement centers."²That's all well and good, Chantel, but the question was explicitly "How to Make..." When the best "instructions" you can come up with are,
"Construct your new box's outer structure according to the design established in Step 6 and using the size, shape, style, material and other requirements you have already established in Steps 1 through 3 above. Use the best construction materials (glue, staples, nails or other) for the type of box you are creating (such as wood, leather or replicate, metal)...."...then it's for damned certain that you do not KNOW "How to make Your Own Jewelry Box."
And when people who don't know how to do something try to tells how – and do a really, really, really bad job of it – we feel fully justified in calling that person the Dumbass of the Day.

² Being a wise consumer, one of our staffers checked our local "home improvement centers" and found not one single product adaptable to Chantel's suggestions. She did, however, find some relatively inexpensive jewelry storage at the Container Store...
