Buying Batteries for Dummies

CR2032 Batteries
CR2032 Batteries
Could there be anything more ridiculous than wasting a reader's time imparting information the average twelve-year-old should know? We've already seen instructions, and not very good ones, at that, about how to change light bulbs (information also made available by member aronnax at InfoBarrel.com). But we're done with dumbasses and light bulbs, at least for right now. Today's recipient of the Dumbass of the Day, InfoBarrel class, is Poster: good old Poster, who, for reasons of greed, we must assume, found it necessary to explain "Where to Buy a CR2032 Battery."

No, not a battery for your sump pump backup, not one for a garden tractor, and not  a backup battery for a 30-year-old security system: no, Poster found it necessary -- in reality, figured it would be lucrative -- to inform readers where they might buy one of the most widely-used and therefore widely-available lithium batteries on the planet. We're not certain; but the list of places where you can't buy this battery might well be shorter than the list of places you can

Poster's advice? Walmart or Tesco. Hell, even online through Amazon (or eBay!!!). Our advice? the closest store. Oh; and you don't need "accessories" for these batteries. What may be worst, this dumbass doesn't provide any useful information about proper disposal of these batteries once spent, even though more than a few people seem to think "toss it in the street" is good enough.

Now, if Poster had wanted to pass along useful information, s/he might have reviewed rechargeable CR2032 batteries and chargers. Or even suggested places where you can buy 386/301 button batteries (Walgreens, but be prepared to pay through the nose). But s/he didn't – and that makes Poster our Dumbass of the Day.
