Wall Oven Installation for Utter Dummies (HubPages Week)

That's a cabinet, you dummy!
This week we're going to single out a nest of dumbasses over at HubPages.com (or perhaps they came in the Squidoo buyout – we neither know nor care). Leading off this week is Naima Manal, a homeschooling mom and serial dumbass who has also shared her lack of knowledge at eHow.com (quelle surprise...). Naima's topic today is kitchen appliances, specifically wall ovens; and we've captured here some of the expertise she shared in the article "Building a Wall Oven into a Wall."

For those of you who aren't familiar with a wall oven, instead of being part of a range (aka a stove), it's a separate appliance; sometimes a double oven, beloved of Thanksgiving cooks. Naima wants us to know that,
"The alignment of a wall oven to the face of a kitchen's cabinetry gives the oven its 'wall' name, but as a heavy appliance instrument, installing it directly into a sheetrock wall requires a lot of built-in support."
Stop right there, Dumbass! You don't install a wall oven through a wall (sheetrock or otherwise): a wall oven is placed in a cabinet! Even you alluded to that with the phrase "alignment of a wall oven to the... cabinetry"!  Yet you went on to tell us how to install one in a wall! Check out more of Naima's dumbassery on the topic of wall ovens:
  • The 6-inch thickness of a standard wall doesn't provide enough depth to hide the back end of a wall oven.
  • If [it is an exterior wall], then no, the wall oven can't be built into the sheetrock without requiring a major, yet small, renovation to the exterior of the house. Ummm - "major yet small"? WTF?
  • Enclose the back of the wall oven whether it extends into a closet or into an open room. Are you kidding us? Extends into a closet?
Our "expert," Naima" – a.k.a. the Dumbass of the Day – rambled on without saying one word about the power (or natural gas) requirements for a wall oven, and continued to fail to understand that wall ovens are installed within the kitchen cabinets. What a dumbass – and what a way to start HubPages week!
