String Trimmer Reviews for Dummies - The Freelance Files MMCCXXXVII

Few writing styles are as likely to give our staffers excruciating headaches as the garbage-filled output of spinning algorithms. To be honest, we thought that with the death of pay-per-click freelance sites like Buublews.com and Helium.com, most of the spinners had retired their algorithms and ridden off into the sunset of whatever foreign lands they call home. Not all have retired their software, however: here's an example from that execrable pile of internet dumbassery called SooperArticles.com, another post from the keyboard of "Lawrence Barnett." This one is entitled – and we kid you now – "Trimmer Line Introduces The New." The new what, we can't tell you... even after reading Barnett's copy.

Spinning Printer Reviews for Dummies

In the break room the other day, one of the newbies was confused by an offhand reference to "spinning content." Apparently, when she hears "spinning," she thinks Soul Cycle or Les Mills. Well, no, spinning content doesn't make you sweat... although it might make you want to gouge out your eyes. So here to introduce the concept of a spinning algorithm to our new employee is an article from SooperArticles.com, a veritable hotbed of spinners. It's returning DotD "Lawrence Barnett" and his "The Advantages of Using a Wireless Printer."¹

Power Saws for Dummy Tool Users

Chainsaws don't have multiple chain lengths, "Larry"
You might have noticed that we here at the Antisocial network tend to be rather unforgiving of falsehood, particularly when it comes to pretending to know something you don't and then writing about it – what seems to have been the business model of eHow.com, now that we think about it. There are, believe it or not, a few worse freelance sites; one of the worst of which calls itself SooperArticles.com. Darned near every writer at that site is faking a name and biography as well as writing utter crap, utter crap like "The Different Kind of Saws Using Tips" posted by "Lawrence Barnett."

See the USA, the Dummies Version

That's 3,933 miles, "Trudy"
If there's one feature of the lesser content farms that drives our research staffers bonkers, it just about has to be fake travel reviews. Some are reasonably literate considering that the writer has never been there (or hasn't been there in decades), but the worst are the ones in which some content-spinner mangled an article from an in-flight magazine or similar lightweight prose. Here's one of the latter, the only SooperArticles.com post pounded out by Trudy Seeger: "Planning For A Memorable USA Trip? Get These Cities In Your Bucket List First."

Bicycle Gear for the Dummy Shopper

bicycle accessories
Every once in a while we run across yet another wannabe content farm. In the post-Panda era, the "crops" at these farms tend to be almost unreadable because of an excess of ads, but that's not their worst trait. Sadly, although many of the world's freelancers are happy to earn 20¢ a day for all their articles, native English speakers aren't. That's very likely why Bubblews was overrun by Filipino teenagers. But on point: today, we feature a writer from a hitherto untapped site, SooperArticles.com: he's Alex Simba, and he penned "Let' [sic] Have a Look on [sic] Essential Cycling Accessories."
